This livestock provides income that enables whole families to pay for clothes, school tuition, and medicine. Further, livestock gives protein rich milk to drink and meat to eat for better nutrition. The gift of livestock is a seed sown in love and partnership to help a family break the cycle of poverty.
Kids for Kids started as a response to the overwhelming poverty we saw during past mission trips and the desire to help people become self-supporting. We started with gifts of goats to many families in Uganda. We are excited to include livestock such as bulls, chickens, and cows to our original Kids for Kids goat program, because it has proven to be an extremely effective way to help.
The beauty of the Kids for Kids program is that it is full of multiplication! Each family or child that receives the gift of livestock gives the first offspring to another needy family. The amazing result is that from the gift of just one goat or one cow a new beginning becomes a reality, and the lives of many children, families, and communities are radically changed!
By owning their own livestock, people have an opportunity to break out of poverty and begin to hope and plan again for the future of their families.
People earn their own money to provide food for their families and meet other important basic needs including health-care and education.
